Nude in Ocean

Immersed in bathwater warm seas, our bather's exposed skin is cooled by the offshore breeze. Convections’ pull, wills the protesting, afternoon storms ashore. The distant cries of the seagulls, garnished by the salty, sea air, complete the sensory banquet. The calm of the moment, soon will be met with the brief fury of a late summers' shower. Contemplations regarding the future, give way to observations about the now, and soon, the pleasures of this moment with be forfeit………………………….This is the third treatment of the Nudes in the Water. I completed the bodies of all three works first and this painting sat unfinished for half a year. Her flesh occupied total dominance over the canvas and pencil drawn hair was her only decoration as she was framed in a light yellow mist of undercoating. I grew to like it, but one of my core beliefs requires that I finish what I start, before I move on. So, I worked the background as an abstract field to infinity. My daughter though, felt it needed a distant point of interest. I agreed, and I cannot begin to tell you how many storms I have witnesses that look just as I've painted on this canvas. We Floridians have, at least for now, some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Enjoy!
